UAT software for US and Canadian ERP rollouts

North American rollouts fail on the things that are not in the vendor's test pack: the tax engine, the bank's ACH validator, the 1099 run and the Canadian entity nobody tested with the US one. This page covers what to put in the plan, and what buying from a UK vendor looks like in practice.

Flat plans in GBP with no UK VAT, no per-seat billing for client testers, email support answered within one working day, and a free plan. See the features or the plans.

What a US or Canadian go-live has to test

Six areas that are specific to North American finance and operations, each of which deserves its own suite in the test plan with its own sign-off.

Sales and use tax

Rates by state, county and city, nexus by state, product taxability and exemption certificates, usually through Avalara or Vertex. Test the tax engine call on quotes, orders, invoices and credit memos for addresses in every state the client ships to, and test what happens when the tax service is unavailable.

Canadian GST, HST, PST and QST

Canadian entities need the right combination per province on both sales and purchases, plus input tax credit tracking. A migrated customer record with the wrong province is the defect that shows up on the first month-end.

ACH, positive pay and check runs

Vendor payment runs generate NACHA-format ACH files, positive pay files for the bank, and printed checks with MICR lines. Have each bank validate a test file, and test the remittance emails that go to vendors alongside the payment.

1099 vendor reporting

Vendors flagged as 1099-eligible, the box each payment maps to, and the year-end run. If the go-live is in the second half of the year, the 1099 totals have to include migrated year-to-date payments, which makes it a data migration test as much as a process test.

Multi-currency and consolidation

USD and CAD entities, exchange-rate tables, unrealised gains and losses at period end, and consolidation with translation. Intercompany between a US and a Canadian entity needs a combined test run, not one per company.

Revenue recognition and formats

ASC 606 arrangements in NetSuite ARM or Dynamics revenue schedules, plus the small things: MM/DD/YYYY dates, imperial units, ZIP+4 validation and letter-size document layouts on every printed form the client sends out.

Platform-level coverage is in the NetSuite UAT guide and the Dynamics 365 CRM UAT guide. For what happens when a US go-live is signed off on a spreadsheet, read the Tennant case.

Buying from a UK vendor

Straight answers to the questions US and Canadian procurement teams ask, including the one about compliance reports.

Billed in GBP, no UK VAT
Invoices come from Grey Foundries Ltd in London. No UK VAT is charged to businesses outside the UK, and your card issuer converts at its rate.
Flat plans, not per seat
Every plan bundles Full Licenses for your team and Run Licenses for client testers. Compare that with £41 per user per month for Azure DevOps Test Plans or TestRail's per-seat tiers.
Security, stated plainly
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not currently publish a SOC 2 report. If you need a security questionnaire answered, ask us.
Privacy
Grey Foundries Ltd is the data controller. The privacy policy covers what is collected, retention and international transfers.
Support hours
Email support on UK business hours, which is the East Coast morning and the start of the West Coast day, answered within one working day.
Free plan, no card
One Full License, three Run Licenses and one project, free forever. Run one client's UAT on it before anything goes to procurement.
